POLICIES
High school and homeschool students may apply to take college-level courses if they are at least 15 years of age or older and meet the prerequisites set forth by the college, including assessments.
Students will be subject to all the requirements, policies, practices, and procedures governing Parkland students, including grading standards and student conduct.
Some courses may have content that is graphic, violent, or mature in nature; however, this content is directly related to the course curriculum. If you have any questions or concerns regarding exposure to sensitive material, please discuss this with the faculty member on the first day of class.
The type and amount of credit given by the high school toward high school graduation is entirely within the purview of the high school. College credits and grades earned are recorded on the student’s Parkland College transcript.
By their signature, the student waives the right to privacy and grants Parkland College officials permission to share information regarding that student’s performance with their parents, legal guardians and/or high school.
Early College students admitted under this program do not qualify for financial aid and are considered course enrollees (non-degree-seeking students). However, performance in early college courses may have short-term and long-term implications on future financial aid eligibility. For additional information, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 217/351-2276.
The college or university you plan to attend after high school may or may not accept the course credits you have earned. Contact your chosen college for specific information.
