Did you have any loans?
Loan repayment begins 6 months after you drop below 6 credit hours. The grace period starts the day you withdraw and lasts for six months. If you don’t re-enroll in at least 6 credit hours before this period ends, you’ll need to start paying back your loans. If you re-enroll in 6 or more credit hours before the grace period is up, your loans will go back into deferment. Any questions regarding loan repayment should be directed to your federal loan servicer. To find out who your federal loan servicer is you can:
· Log into your dashboard at Federal Student Aid, scroll down to the “My Loan Servicers” section, or
· Call the Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) at 1-800-433-3243
Did you receive Veteran benefits? If you have state veterans education benefits (Illinois Veterans Grant, Illinois National Guard Grant, Deceased, Disabled and MIA/POW scholarship), you will have used units for the class even if you withdraw. You cannot get these units back.
If you have Federal veterans education benefits and you withdraw from class(es) you may owe money back to the VA. Any funds you received from the VA for those class(es) may need to be returned, and the VA will bill you on the amount owed. Initial below.
