The Aviation program is a selective admissions program. Students must be admitted to the Aviation program before they can start taking Aviation-specific courses.

GPA
Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher to be eligible to apply.

Assessments
Applicants must have established the following assessment levels in English, reading, and math PRIOR to scheduling an advising appointment. Failure to assess into college level English, reading and Math may result in having to re-take assessments or student will not be permitted to register for aviation courses.

Attain college-level reading, college-level English (eligible to register for ENG 101), and a minimum score of 30 on the Aleks math assessment. Assessments can be taken at our Assessment Center anytime they are open, typically 8 am to 2:30 pm, Mon-Fri. No appointment is necessary. Alternatively, assessments can be attained through past academic history. Please email admissions@parkland.edu for guidance.

Students who are non-native speakers of English must establish English proficiency through the internet-based (iBt) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with the following scores at a minimum:

TOEFL Overall - 85
Listening - 22
Speaking - 26

Licensing
Students must possess a Class 3 or higher medical exam ination by an FAA-approved physician. For assistance in locating an approved physician, consult the FAA Physician Locator.

Non-U.S. citizens must obtain a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) authorization through the TSA Flight Training Security Program (FTSP).
